Determining the Cost of Your Move
When you first request our services, we’ll provide you with an estimate based on different factors, including the size of your move and the distance between your current place and future destination. However, our estimate isn’t a flat rate. We understand that not every move is the same, with some taking much longer than others. Some of the moves we help our clients make are quick, simple, and easy, while others require more team members on board to get things done as fast and efficiently as possible. Therefore, we charge an hourly rate associated with any local moving services.
The final cost of your move will be determined by the following:
- The number of hours involved – We calculate the time our movers spend transporting your belongings from one place to the next and the time it takes to get to and from the office from your place. We do this to ensure our workers receive a fair hourly wage for time spent on the road to get to each client and back to the office at the end of the day.
- Fuel surcharge – We include a fuel surcharge to help balance the cost of fueling our vehicles. As you may know, the price of fuel fluctuates.
- Additional services – If you decide to use any additional services that we provide, we’ll add that to your invoice and include it in the final pricing. However, we’ll make sure that you know how much each additional service costs before you decide to use it. For example, you may want to purchase more packing materials from us instead of using old boxes and bags for your move. If so, we’ll let you know the official cost of all moving supplies beforehand.
Move cost = Labor time + Travel time + Materials + Additional Services requested.
When you’re paying your invoice, you’re paying for travel time, labor, fuel, packing supplies, and any extra services you decide to use. We can break it down for you on paper, providing an itemized invoice to show you exactly what you’re paying for and why.
