HOW DO WE CHARGE

In order to prevent any misunderstandings please read the order for service form to ensure you know the way East Coast Boston Movers Works. 

Understanding your charges:


On the day of the move you will be presented with a Bill of lading (contract), The contract is what you are going to sign agreeing with the rate per hour, the form of payment, the valuation (insurance), number of hours charged, materials charges, additional services you requested, and the total cost of your move which has to be paid in full at the end of the moving services provided by us, by check, cash or credit card (credit card payments are subject to a 5% fee)

 

At the end of the move the foreman will present you with the final bill which will be the total number of hours worked plus travel time (time from our office to your first place and back to the office from the last place), plus fuel surcharge, plus any supplies used to protect your goods, plus any additional services we provided (overnight storage, Hoisting, trash disposal, parking ticket, etc.)

 

The estimate:

The estimate provided by East Coast Boston Movers is not a flat rate price unless it is a long distance and agreed upon booking your move.

ALL LOCAL MOVES ARE BASED ON AN HOURLY RATE, AND PACKING SUPPLIES ARE NOT INCLUDED ON THAT RATE.

FINAL COST OF THE MOVE= TOTAL HOURS WORKED + TRAVEL TIME+ PACKING SUPPLIES + FUEL SURCHARGE + ANY ADDITIONAL SERVICES REQUESTED + ANY PARKING TICKET AND CREDIT CARD FEES IF PAYING WITH A CREDIT CARD.

It is better to thing of the estimate as a thinking tool and not the cost of the move.

 Valuation (insurance)

East Coast Boston Movers 

offers 2 types of valuation to protect your goods and they are as follows:

Option A:

Basic or release valuation is when you do not declare any particular value to your goods.
That does not mean East Coast Boston Movers is not liable though.
It means that you automatically you will get $.60 cents per pound per article for ant damage or lost item.

The basic valuation it is free of charge.

However, if something gets damage or lost, you should only spec $.60 per pound per article.
Please do not spec more than $.60 cents per pound per article for any damage regardless how much the damage piece cost.

You will be allowed 10 Days FROM THE MOVE DAY TO SUBMIT A CLAIM.
OPTION B:

Full value protection

the cost of this coverage ranges from $200.00 to $600.00, and it will cover up to $50,000 to fixed or replace any damage item, whichever one is cheaper.
The cost will be determined by the deductible you choose.
for example:
Option 1: $200.00 with $1000.00 Deductible
Option 2 : $400.00 with $500.00 deductible.
Option 3: $600.00 with $0.00 Deductible.

The deductible is the portion every client is responsible for.

You will be allowed 10 Days FROM THE MOVE DAY TO SUBMIT A CLAIM.

Please, clients that decide  to just use our basic valuation should not expect to get more than the minimum valuation, all clients have the choice to purchase a higher coverage and if you took the minimum it is a choice you made and we are not responsible for anything more than the $.60 cents per pound per article.

This is moving and accidents can happen, it is not the movers intention for anything to brake and they will try their best to protect everything they are moving and the properties as best they can.

 Please do not call us demanding or treating to get a full value protection if you did not purchased one

Client Responsibilities
  • To read and understand the agreement between you and East Coast Boston Movers before signing.
  • To be present or assign someone to be with the movers and sign all paperwork and pay for the move at the end of the service.
  • Make sure all goods are properly pack in a box, the movers ca do it for you, but they will charge for the boxes, and it will take time.
Please do not assume that you can do it better or faster just to save money, the movers are professionals, and this is what they do on a daily basis.
 

 
Part of the service
  • Disassembly and reassembly of the furniture we took apart.
  • Placement of your furniture at desired location.
  • A uniformed professional moving crew
  • A client support to answer any questions.
  • All taxes are included on the price.
  • Basic valuation of $.60 Cents per pound per article.
  • No additional charges for stairs or elevator.

 
 
At East Coast Boston Movers we try to be as polite and as professional as we can, and we understand that a lot can happen during a move and that moving is very stressful, however there is no need to yield or scream to let us know something happen, as adult we understand that the best way to get to a solution for a problem is by having a calm conversation.
Please note, yelling or screaming is not going to change the outcome of the resolution, East Coast Boston Movers tries to be as clear and as upfront as we can be to prevent any miss understandings.
 
By signing the present, you acknowledge that you understand and agree with the services order form and will comply with its content.

 
 Description of charges

Labor Charges
The labor time is the time that the movers will spend finically moving your belongings, Loading, driving to additional stops and destination, unloading your goods.
The labor time will start as soon as the movers arrive at the origin (moving from address) location and will end when all of your goods are unloaded, placed and reassembled at the destination

Travel Time Charges

The travel time is the time used to compensate the time it takes the movers from our terminal to the origin location and from destination back to our terminal.

Please Note: The travel time is not the time between the places you are moving, that is consider part of the labor, and we based the travel time based on what google says it will take, however, the movers are not driving a car, but a moving truck with restrictions on speed and available routes.


Packing Supplies

@CompanyName  will always have supplies in the truck to do a full packing service for all clients even if the client does not ask for them.
As a moving company we are in charge of making sure all Items we move are protected properly, @CompanyName will provide the moving pads for free to use during your move.
We expect everything at your home to be boxes up, if for any reason you did not have time to pack some of your things in boxes, we will do it for you at the same hourly rate, but it will add time to your estimate.

Materials: Packing tape, moving boxes, plastic wrap, commercial bins, Mattress covers are not part of your estimate and will be charge as the movers use them.


Additional Services

Additional services are also going to be charged as perform.
Additional services are the services that are not part of the regular moving services, in other words anything that goes beyond moving your goods from point
A to point B such as:

  • Trash disposal
  • Hoisting Items 
  • Overnight storage

Basic Insurance
$.60 per pound per article
East Coast Boston Movers will provide free basic insurance to all clients.
Please note that the basic insurance coverage it is only $.60 cents per pound per article.
This is a basic coverage, and it is free, please do not expect a full value replacement from a free coverage.

At the end of the move the crew chief will run all the numbers and provide you with the final bill cost for your move minus the deposit you paid to schedule your moving services and that balance is due then.
At that point you do have the option to pay by Cash, check or credit card.
Please note: If you decide to pay with a credit card a 5% fee will apply
